Membership at Union Grove UMC and in the United Methodist Church is both a declaration of faith in Christ Jesus and an affirmation of your desire to grow in faith and commitment along with the others members of this church community. We gather from a variety of faith backgrounds united in the understanding that God is calling us together to be of one heart and action in this time and place.
If you are interesting in becoming a member or have questions about membership at Union Grove UMC, please contact Pastor Rich.
Pathways to Membership:
–By Profession of Faith and Baptism
If you have never been baptized as a Christian, we would be happy to meet with you to discuss the meaning of Baptism and membership.
–By Transfer from another United Methodist Church
If you are currently a member at another United Methodist Church and would like to transfer that membership to Union Grove, mark the fellowship pad during worship under “Desire to join this church,” or be in touch with Pastor Rich or Pastor Laura. We would be happy to write for your letter of transfer and set a date when we might welcome you into this community during worship.
–By Transfer from another Christian Denomination
The process is very much like that of transferring from another United Methodist Church. You will be asked to take the one vow taken by all members of the United Methodist Church: “Will you be loyal to this church (Union Grove) and to the United Methodist Church and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and witness?”
